27 Peaks in 21 Days
Pinto in the morning and Nelson in the afternoon. An easy hike with frost in the shade. Nice Joshua trees in the area. This was part of a 21 day hiking road-trip I did with Heather. Other peaks we did on this trip include:
Pinos, Sawmill, Aliso, Signal, Castle Dome, Ajo, Miller, Superstition BM, Turtle HP, Old Woman, Granite, Cinder Cone 3894', Avawatz, Pahrump, Pinto, Panamint Butte, Canyon Point, Shadow, Grapevine, Wahguye, Palmer, Stirling, Northshore, Black Mesa, Hamblin, and Little Virgin.
We also visited Heiroglyphic Canyon, Marble Canyon, Cottonwood Canyon, Sheep Spring Canyon, Cadiz Dunes, Mojave Lava Tube, Parowan Gap Dinosaur tracks and numerous pertroglyph sites.
See the trip report with photos for more information.

From the Nelson Cabin
Short and sweet hike up to the summit in cold, but nice conditions. Very thin layer of snow near the summit. We climbed Pinto Peak near Towne Pass in the morning, then climbed to the highpoint of Malpais Mesa afterwards. The last day of a great four day tour of Death Valley.

Post Pleasant
After topping out on Pleasant Point in the morning, I drove around to the other side and found my way to the Nelson Range HP. I still had about an hour and forty minutes of daylight, so up I went. I was off the mountain and walking back across the desert by nightfall (I descended a gully south west of the summit, which worked out well).

From the west
Really had fun with this one. If you stick to the top of the ridge there are some fun scrambly bits. Came back the longer route via the mines on the north end of the range and saw some beautiful turquoise colored ores.

North Ridge
An easy hike with a couple inches of snow on sheltered slopes.
