easy hike up for some nice views.
Lots of people at the summit in summer, but there are plenty of areas to disperse for some peace and quiet. I found a nice pocket knife on the summit and no one claimed it. In winter the ice can be tricky.

Barlow to Wilmot
Decent peak with good views minus the tower.

So nice I went up twice
More than halfway to the top, I realized I'd left my hiking pole somewhere... found it about thirty feet from the trailhead.
Fun little peak with a steep scrambly trail. The active firetower on the summit helps make up for the crowds and machinery up top. Sort of a cross between Monadnock, Pack Monadnock, and Pawtuckaway.
Great day for wildflowers, found lots of rhodora to the north of the summit.
Went up from Winslow park side: up the winslow trail (twice, plus down once) which is steep like Monadnock's White Dot; then down the Barlow which is longer and less steep but still very rough and rooty, so you don't save any time.
These trails would be nasty when wet; the rock here is a fine-grained self-polishing type, unlike the rough granite found on many NH peaks.

Great little peak
Hiked the Lincoln Trail on a beautiful Fall Friday. There were no hikers on the trail the whole way up and back, though I saw a few on the summit who had come up from the other side. Outstanding views of Monadnock, Ascutney, the Greens and the Whites.

Good training hike
Most of the time when I do this hike I go up from the north parking lot to the summit then down to the southern parking lot or southern park entrance and then back again. It's about 30 minutes from the north parking lot to the summit.

This past weekend I came up the WIlmot Trail, and descented the Barlow Trail. This is the proper way to do this hike. The footing on the Wilmot Trail is much poorer and steeper than the Barlow Trail.

Wilmot/BarlowEasy solo hike for the purpose of breaking in a new pair of boots. Quiet on a Friday, but the buzzing antenna on top bummed me out a bit.
