Hiked up with my wife. We went up to the Sugarloaf View first and then took 215 to the road to pick up 26 to 216. Although an easy hike, the views were rewarding.
Mtn biked it first, scouted routes once and couldn't follow guidebook then have returned for rigging practice only. Hope to enjoy some rock in the sunshine there.
I visited Mount Erie shortly before hiking to nearby Sugarloaf Mountain. My wife and I had a lot of fun watching rock climbers scaling the walls of Mount Erie. I made an effort to visit the highest point of Mount Erie, located near the communications towers. I found a couple of USGS benchmarks, including the one indicating the true summit location.

Route Climbed: Hiking Paths
Went up there via several hiking paths from the north. Wonderful hike through the forest and great views from Sugarloaf and Erie.
But it broke my heart to see people climbing the south face while I had no equipment with me.
