Beautiful late spring day
20 min c2c, the view of the Pacific Ocean over the low coast range is worth the walk-up! Could see Hood, Jefferson, and the Sisters

Visited during all seasons
I visited a few times this year and saw drastic changes. Winter I could not get through the downed branches of the trial. Spring was ok. Summer had the amazing views and wildflowers. Here is a video showing Marys Peak off.

North Ridge Trail
Nice stroll through the forest while the winter was getting off to a mild start. Windy with 2" of snow on top; the view was wide ranging and nice.

Winter
This was a trip including Clatsop, Columbia, Washington, Polk, Lincoln, Coos, Curry, and Benton counties.
From upper parking lot at around 2 a.m. Lots of wind and snow blowing (though not sticking) so visibility was low. Did not dally.

Marys Peak
We drove up to the upper parking area and did the short little hike on the way back to Portland from the Medford area. HP is gated off with the reference marker outside of the gate pointing to where the benchmark would be on the inside of the gate. Oregon CoHP #24/36.

Smoke
We hiked the trail from conners camp. A heavy smoke layer reached all the way from the east to the ocean. No Cascades and no Pacific. The summit area itself is kind of a cool meadow. My eight year old said he liked Saddle mountain better (we had just hiked it two days before). There were a lot of people for a Wednesday morning.

Cloudy Day
The weather made for a really cool and more interesting hike. The forest looked mysterious with clouds that mixed with fir trees. Wildflowers were abundant higher up. Will have to go back to get the summit views on a clear day.

Mary's snow and running trips.
Have reach the summit of Mary's Peak many times. Most of them as snow trips in the winter starting as young as 6 years old. Also I have gone running up there a few times through the years. Great view of Willamette Valley below.
On January 7th, 2014, I hiked the North Ridge trail for the first time. The most satisfying way to get to the top. 2300ft elevation gain over about 10 miles of round trip hiking. No snow but wind was blowing pretty hard at which just made the trip more enjoyable. Took us about 4 hours in total.
hiked up this peak many times from 2002-2004, in all seasons, while living in Corvallis. Enjoyed the various trails in the area and have some good memories viewing Oregon volcanoes from the top while throwing snowballs.

Went up with a hiking buddy. There is a pretty good pack of snow for the last 500-700ft to the top, and just a little bit of rim ice in the clearing where the wind can blow the powder off. It was raining for the first part, but quickly turned to snowing when we got to where there was snow on the ground. Loved the look of all the snow, but there was heavy fog at the top (no view whatsoever).
