started at RR tracks at base of old tramway - hit point 6231 and followed that ridge up to top. Some bushwhacking, but not so bad since wildfire cleared older scrub oak in past years. Stick to highest part of ridge (rockiest part) to avoid impenetrable scrub. saw a magnificent bull elk.

Kessler
These peaks in the Northern Oquirrh's always prove to be much tougher than anticipated. Nelson earlier year is an example. Donovan Lynch and went up Kessler's west ridge, aiming for that "orange crate" that never seemed to get closer. Before we got to Kessler we cut underneath it and hit it's north summit first. From there we stuck to the ridge up and over Kessler and on to Farnsworth Peak. As tough a hike as it was this proved to be another great hike in the Oquirrh's.
Climbed from Lake Town. Steep hike with bushwacking. The orange crate is farther than it seems. Had one of the best sandwiches up there with a good view!
