Capitol
A quick grab after doing Larch. No views thanks to thick clouds and snow.

Capitol in Thurston during Coronavirus
Quick morning trip, sun shining and brief easy hike! Many roads to the top

Microwave Zone
Not fond of summits with radioactive towers. Views were good on top though. Did Mount Molly earlier.

6 Dumpster Day
Left Edmonds early in the morning and started with Boistfort, Capitol, Larch and Rock Candy, then drove over to Rock Peak 3320' which took 4 hours because of 5 feet of snow, then ended on the true summit of Gold Mountain before taking the ferry back to Edmonds.

Capitol
EastKing and I were supposed to do another peak but it was off limits so we did this one instead. There was a good view on top of this peak.
At the time, I thought Larch was the highpoint of Thurston Co.. Oh well.

This was an easy taking, although I was tired that day anyways.

Capitol
Great View of Rainier with a low cloud level on this day. Otherwise this mtn sucked but it sucked quite quickly so that's not so bad.

The summit was foggy and trashed
wanted to do an easy hike with potentially good views so EastKing took me to Capital Peak down in the Black Hills near Olympia. Unfortunately the dirt road was not ideal for our older car but the car did make it. Also the peak was socked in only small openings through the clouds.
All I can say is that this peak is cell phone tower heaven and it is also heavily littered with beer cans and other garbage. Not exactly a thing of beauty but it was good to get out and get yet another summit.

Larch Mtn first
Sp member Bob and I first went to Larch Mtn and then walked up the gated road to the top of Capitol. We had some great views to the east and Mt. Rainier was worth the hike to the top of Capitol.

Nice Views! Many Towers!
Snowfall during the two days prior to my visit made the forest roads very slick and interesting for my little vehicle. The snowbound road conditions worsened near the parking area. A nice short walk up the summit road. A LOT of communications towers. Even on a foggy day, I was able to see Mount Rainier in the distance.
